Description
Chromic sulfate exists in several hydrated states. Anhydrous chromic sulfate is a violet red powder that is insoluble in water. Hydrated chromic sulfates are water soluble green powders. Chromic sulfate is used for metal plating solutions, tanning leathers, for hardening photographic emulsions, and as a mordant in dyeing and printing textiles. It is also used in green paints, varnishes, inks, and ceramic glazes.
