Description
An organic molecule with a long, unsaturated hydrocarbon chain (8-10 carbons) and a hydroxyl group. Sterol, or steroid alcohols, are waxy substances that occur naturally in plants and animals. Examples are Cholesterol, ergosterol and phytosterol.
