Description
[Linde Specialty Gases division of Union Carbide] A registered trademark for a Fumigant and Disinfectant composed of Ethylene oxide (10%) diluted with Carbon dioxide (90%). Both gases are colorless and odorless. Ethylene oxide acts to kill insects, pests, bacteria, mold, and fungi. Carbon dioxide primarily serves as a diluent to decrease the fire risk of the ethylene oxide. In addition, it provides an anoxic factor.
Hazards and Safety
Ethylene oxide is toxic and a carcinogen.
