Description

A skin disease caused by mites, expecially the Sarcoptes scabiei. Mange can occur in both animals and humans although it is rarely transmitted between species. Mange mites cause skin inflammation, itching, and hair loss. Leather prepared from infected areas can have regions with coarse grains, scars, hair pockets, or soft spots.
