Description
The amount of absorbed water present in a material. Moisture content is expressed as the weight/weight percentage (w/w%) of water in a material versus the materials' total original (non-dried) weight. The weight of the water is obtained by weighing the material as received (original weight) then subtracting the weight of the oven-dried material. The determination of the moisture content of paper is important for optimum printing operations. See also Moisture regain and equilibrium moisture .
