Alizarin crimson

Description

A clear, bright red, transparent lake pigment. Alizarin crimson is prepared by precipitating the synthetic dyestuff alizarin on a neutral base of Alumina trihydrate. This produces a brilliant, ruby red color that has fair to good permanency. Other base materials are used to give varying shades of red.
