[Wesco Enterprises] A two-part epoxy putty used for fine sculpting, and model making, and durable household repairs. Magic-Sculpt putties are based on a 50:50 mix ratio of an epoxy resin base (part A) and an amine catalyst/hardener (Part B). The uncured putties have a smooth, moldable consistency and all provide very strong adhesion to any type of substrate.  Once the two-parts are completely mixed, there is about 1-3 hours working time for shaping the putty.  The mixed product cures in 12 hours at room temperature without any shrinkage.  After curing, Magic-Sculpt has a smooth texture and rock-hard finish that can be safely drilled, carved, sanded, and painted.

There are three types of Magic-Sculpt 2-part putties and pastes. All on based on the following materials:

Part A (Resin Component):

  • Base Resin: a liquid epoxy resin like Bisphenol-A diglycidyl ether
  • Fillers: Talc (magnesium-silicate hydrate) and clays (alumino-silicates)

Part B (Hardener Component):

  • Curing Agent: An amine/amide catalyst that triggers exothermic cross-linking when mixed. Magic-sculpt fast likely contains a higher concentration or an accelerated curing agent (such as a tertiary amine or modified mercaptan)
  • Fillers: The same clay and talc silicates found in Part A to guarantee even dispensing and uniform density

Additionally, each of the two parts may have specific pigments. Each usually has a different shade for visual differentiation during mixing.
