Description
A chromatographic separation method. In electrophoreses, the sample particles are suspended in a gel, then an electric field is created by placing electrodes of opposite charge on each side of the gel tray. The particles will slowly migrate toward one electrode depending on their molecular structure and the composition of the gel media. Electrophoresis is typically used to study amino acids in proteins.
