Description

[Mo och Domsjo, Sweden] A brand name for a series of water-soluble polymer composed of ethylhydroxyethyl cellulose (EHEC). The Modocoll (or Ethulose in the U.S.) varieties of EHEC have higher proportions of hydroxyethy to ethyl groups compared to other formulations; this provides for their atypical water solubility.

Modocoll E - soluble in water, insoluble in organic solvents

Modocoll M - soluble in both water and many organic solvents

Synonyms and Related Terms

Ethulose (brand name used in the U.S.)
