Description
Originally a petticoat made of horsehair fabric that was used in the mid-19th century to add volume to a skirt. A secondary definition for crinoline is as a stiff, coarse fabric made of Linen, Cotton or Horsehair. Crinoline fabric was used to line and stiffen book bindings, hats, garments and petticoats.
