Description

Any of several types of dense board made from compressed cellulose fibers, wood chips, or minerals. Composition boards may be held together with an adhesive, with the lignin that is naturally present, or with just the physical intermeshing of the fibers or particles. Composition boards made from wood are usually classified by fiber size (largest to smallest): waferboard, strandboard, flakeboard, particle board, and fiberboard. Other types of boards include: Asbestos Air Cell board, Homasote®, gypsum board, Sheetrock®, and Sackett board.
