Description

A descriptive term for yarns used to indicate the slope direction and the spiral frequency. When a yarn is held vertically, the slope direction is designated by the terms: S-twist (if the spiral forms an S), Z-twist (if the spiral forms a Z), or I-twist (if there is no apparent twist). The spiral frequncy is designated by counting the turns per inch (tpi), turns per centimeter (tpcm), or turns per meter (tpm).
