Depth of focus

Description
The depth of focus is the range of distances in which an image plane is in good focus. For photography, the film is placed at the focal point of the image plane. Because the depth of focus increases with increasing magnification, small errors in focus setting may not be apparent in photomicrographs made with high power objectives. Whereas minor focus changes may be readily apparent with a low magnification lens.
