Uemura's notes There are three different types of Catechu extract made from different plant sources: Gambier catechu from the wood of Uncaria gambier; Acacia catechu (Bengal catechu) from the wood of Acacia catechu or Acacia Suma; Areca catechu (Bombay catechu) - so-called Binrji - from the fruit of Areca catechu.
