Alexandrit glass
Description
A type of Dichroic glass that appears blue in daylight and red in artificial light. Alexandrit glass was first made by Kolo Moser in Bohemia in the early 20th century. It contains about 3% neodymium oxide. Alexandrit glass was named after the dichroic mineral, Alexandrite. It is not the same as Alexandrite glass, which is a colored glass produced by Thomas Webb in the late 19th century.
