Balsam Wool

Description

[Wood Conversion Co.] A trademark for an Insulation made from shredded wood. First made in the 1920's by Forest Weyehaeuser, balsam wool insulation contained wood fibers treated with borax (fire-retardant) and asphaltum (for loft) then sealed in kraft paper.
