A sturdy, textured fabric with a disrupted diagonal twill pattern. Broken twill is a tablet weaving technique that changes the twill direction to make designs such as diamond shapes or the elaborate pattern bands used in the Middle Ages. Broken twill is used in many denim fabrics as well as for blankets and coats.
