Greaseproof paper

Description

A type of Imitation parchment made from chemical wood pulp that has been hydrated with beating and chemicals (Sulfuric acid or Zinc chloride). This produces a paper that is semitransparent, glossy, and greaseproof. Imitation parchment no longer bears any resemblance to animal parchment or other types of parchment paper. It is typically used as a wrapping paper for food products.
