Description

A naturally occurring green-color sand that contains carbonates and Glauconite along with a large percentage of Silica, Potash, and Alumina. Greensand is used for water filtration and water softening because it extracts Calcium and Magnesium from the water. It is also used as a refractory material in foundries. See also Foundry sand.
