Description

A yellow dye extracted from the leaves of both the common buckwheat plant, Fagopyrum esculentum, and the English holly bush, Ilex aquifloium. Ilixanthin produces a dark yellow color on cotton when mordanted with alumina and a light yellow when mordanted with tin.
