Description
- Materials that are considered optimal for people, objects, and the environment. The careful selection, use and disposal of materials used daily has both a direct as well as a broad impact on our lives and world.
- Ability to maintain or support a process over time. Sustainability is often broken into three core concepts: economic, environmental, and social
- waste/pollution management; sustainable procurement; energy management and use of other natural resources;
- Use materials produced locally (responsible sourcing)
- Reduce or eliminate waste during design, construction, and operation. Reuse/salvage materials
- Avoid the use of materials that are toxic or harmful (red list)
