Sebacic acid

Description
White flaky crystals. Sebacic acid is obtained from heating oil castor oil with hydroxide sodium hydroxide. It is used in the synthesis of resin alkyd, resin nylon, and resin polyester resins. Sebacic acid is also used as a plasticizer.
