Sharkskin

Description

1) A leather made from the skin of a shark. Sharkskin is a tough, strong leather that is usually vegetable tanned. It has been used for book covers, shoes, and luggage.

2) A smooth, twilled fabric. Sharkskin cloth is woven with warp and filling yarns of alternating light and dark colors. Lightweight skarkskin is made from fiber rayon and fiber acetate for dresses, blouses, and skirts. A heavier, medium weight fabric is made from wool for suits.
