Description

A class of thermosetting plastics produced by the condensation reaction of an amine, such as urea, and an aldehyde, such as formaldehyde. Amino resins, often called aminoplasts, were first made in 1929. Examples of amino resins are formaldehyde resin melamine formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin urea formaldehyde. Amino resins are used for molded plastics, coatings, adhesives, laminating, textile finishes, and paper manufacture.
