Polariscope

Description
An instrument used to view the effects of polarized light as is passes through an optically transparent medium. As in a polarizing microscope, a polariscope consists of a pair of polarized elements. The first polar is called the polarizer because is it used to polarize the light before it reaches the specimen. The second polar is called the analyzer. Polariscopes are used to examine stresses in glass and other substances.
