Description
A substance, usually in small quantities, that is added to a base material for the purpose of modifying the properties of the end product. Examples of additives are: antioxidants, inhibitors, accelerators, thickeners, plasticizers, colorants, fillers, emulsifiers, sizes, stabilizers, flame retardants, etc.
