Description
A fluorescent dye used to detect proteins. Cycloheptaamylose dansyl chloride (DC-C7A) is a water soluble complex made cyclodextrin hydrate mixed with dansyl chloride. It forms a bright yellow solid that is soluble in aqueous alkaline solution. With the exception of albumin, DC-C7A is has good selectivity for most proteins in paint samples, including casein (Messinger 1992).
