Description
The trademark for a series of synthetic iron oxide pigments (Mars colors) originally produced by Fireman at the Columbian Carbon Company in Alexandria, Virginia about 1900 (Mayer 1969). Mapico colors, red, brown, black, tan and yellow, are used as pigments in paints, enamels, cement, stucco and as fillers in rubber.
