Sinew

Description

A strong, leathery elastic band made from a tendon. A tendon is a fibrous tissue that connects bone to muscle. It is expandable in the direction parallel to the fibrils. Prior to the development of rubber and synthetic elastomers, sinews were used as an elastic material.
