Description
A type of Luminescence produced by a material when it is excited by a beam of electrons (e.g. cathode ray tube). Cathodoluminescence is the source of illumination in CRT screens for televisions and computer monitors. In geology, a cathodoluminescence microscope is used to examine internal structures of rock samples in order to study the history of the rock.
