Description
Any of several crested fishing birds of the family Alcedinidae native to temperate and tropical areas throughout the world. Kignfishers often have bluish-gray colored feathers used for decoration. The kookaburra, of Australia, belongs to this family. == Synonyms and Related Terms ==
