Sound insulation

Description

Any material used to decrease the intensity of unwanted sounds. Sound insulation can be achieved by incorporating dead space and/or insulating materials (backplaster, insulation felt, plastic foamed plastic, wool mineral wool, cork, and sawdust, etc.) into the construction design. Total suppression of the transfer of sound from one location to another is called soundproofing.
