Lacquer solvent

Description
A common name for a commercial volatile solvent or solvent mixture capable of solubilizing synthetic lacquers such as nitrate cellulose nitrate. When the lacquer solvent evaporates, it deposits the resin as a thin cohesive film. Some lacquer solvents are acetone, acetate ethyl acetate, alcohol ethanol, toluene, xylene, and acetate butyl acetate.
Hazards and Safety
Most are flammable with explosive potential.
