Applying poultice

Description

A moist, absorbent mass use to soften or extract unwanted components from a treated surface. Poultices may be made from a sponge, a matt of soft fibers, or a gelling material, such as cellulose methyl cellulose. Added components, such as solvents, surfactants, enzymes, or agent chelating agents, are used to solubilize the unwanted components, which then are absorbed by the poultice material.
