Description

A tree, Cedrela toona, native to India, southeast Asia, and Australia. Timber from the toon tree is a beautiful deep red color that polishes well. The durable wood is used for furniture and cabinetry. A red dye is obtained from the dried flowers of the tree. The primary colorants in the dye are nycanthin and quercetin.
