Hygroscopic

Description
A material that readily absorbs and retains moisture. Examples of hygroscopic materials are gel silica gel, chloride lithium chloride, chloride calcium chloride, paper, and cotton.
Note: The term 'hydroscopic' which means viewing an object under water, is often incorrectly used.
