Pozzolan cement

Description

A cement that contains cement portland cement (silicate calcium silicate) mixed with ground pozzolana (volcanic rock) and sometimes lime. Pozzolan cement is a hydraulic cement that hardens with water. It is more resistant to corrosive environments than plain portland cement. Pozzolan cement is used for dams, bridge piers, and wall coatings. Artificial pozzolan cement is made with furnace slag (slag cement).
