Description

An acronym for room temperature vulcanization. The RTV process involves the mixing of a rubber, usually silicone, with a catalyst to form a harder stronger material. The rubber vulcanizes chemically without the addition of heat. RTVs are used for sealing, caulking, and molds. Some commercial RTVs include GTE silicone resins.
