Description

Originally a US Steel trademark for a type of steel weathering steel. First sold in 1933, the name Cor-Ten is now used generically for all weathering steels. It contains 0.2-0.5 % copper and phosphorus and it readily forms a thin, protective brown patina in outdoor environments. Cor-Ten has approximately 5 times the weather resistance of regular steel carbon steel.
