Description

A material that can appear two different colors. This is a broad term that covers color variations dependent on any of the following physical conditions: 1) illumination direction (dichroism), 2) illumination wavelength, 3) concentration or thickness of the material, 4) temperature (liquid crystals), 5) physical orientation (suede effect), or 6) chemical environment (pH indicators).
