Uemera's notes Another name of this plant is Bebikusa (紅草 / 葒草). Its dyeing property is poor. Since ancient time, to explain about Itadori (Fallopia japonica (Houtt.) Ronse Decr. var. japonica (Polygonum cuspidatum Siebold et Zucc.)), often the name of this plant was used because of its similar appearance.
