Dyeing process | To prepare the dye bath, apricot bark was added into the boiled extract of alder bark. |
Uemera's notes | Even if a fabric was soaked into a dye bath in which alder bark would be added into a boiled extract of apricot bark, it still generated the same color as the samples. Use of apricot wood instead of its bark did not affect the result. The resultant color of the mixture solution falls between that of Japanese apricot and that of Japanese alder. Depending on the ratio of the two in a dye bath, the tone of the resultant color would shift. |
