Uemera's notes According to Dr. Shirai, an alternative name for Someshiba is Hai-no-ki (灰の木). According to Dr. Makino, an alternative name for the same plant is Kurobai (くろばひ), and an alternative name for Hai-no-ki (灰の木) is Isu-no-ki (いすの木), which is a different species. In addition to these, there is also another Isu-no-ki, which does not belong to the Hai-no-ki family, but belongs to the Kinrubai family (金縷梅科).
