Description
A substance that enhances the effectiveness of a treatment. Adjuvants are used to increase absorption, provide miscibility in water, and aid in wetting. Examples of materials used in conservatio treatments that can be adjuvants are: surfactants, wetting agents, emulsifiers, foaming agent, thickeners, buffers, and defoaming agents.
