Description
Green crystals formed by the reaction of acetic acid with iron. Ferrous acetate was used as a mordant for black dyes on cotton and silk. It was also used in dyeing leather and preserving wood.

Soluble in water and alcohol. Oxidizes to ferric acetate in air.
