Description
The number of cycles, vibrations, or occurrences of a repetitive motion during a fixed unit of time. In physics, frequency is used to measure the number of wave oscillations per time; higher freqency radiation corresponds to higher energy levels. The freqency of electromagnetic radiation is usually expressed in Hertz or wavenumber (for IR radiation).
