Infrared radiation
Revision as of 06:06, 24 July 2013 by (username removed)
Description
The portion of the electromagnetic spectrum with wavelengths ranging from 0.7 - 500 micrometers, or wavenumbers of 14,000 - 20 cm-1. Infrared radiation is expressed as wavenumbers, rather than the wavelengths used for visible and ultraviolet radiation, because wavenumbers are directly proportion to the energy.
