Description

A dull, nonglossy surface. Matte surfaces have microscopic irregularities that scatter, or diffusely reflect, light in all directions. This is the opposite of glossy surfaces that produce mirror-like images. Matte surfaces may occur or be made on any type of material such as paint, paper, metal, photographs and fabrics.
