Description
A transparent, flat sheet of microfilm that is usually the size of an index card (4 x 6 inches, 10 x 15 cm). Microfiche contain photographically reduced reproductions of printed or graphic material, such as books, newspapers, magazines or documents. About 40 book pages are held on one card. The resultant images are too small to read with the unaided eye and thus, a microfiche reader is required to magnify the images for viewing.
