Description

A natural yellow dyestuff extracted from the roots of several East Indian mulberry trees and shrubs of the genus Morinda of the Rubiaceae family (Mayer 1969). Morinda dyes exhibit good lightfastness.

Some of these dyes are:

-soranjee - CI Natural Red 18, from Morinda citrifolia

-mang kouda - CI Natural Red 19, from Morinda umbellata
